The good news is, you can look forward to a much faster recovery as opposed to surgery. The ESG procedure itself only takes 90-120 minutes. Since you’re put under general anesthesia, you’ll be observed for a few hours after waking up. After that, most patients are able to go home. You can usually return to work within a few days, as well.

Immediately after your procedure, you may need to follow a soft or liquid diet for a brief time. For optimal results, you’ll need to maintain a healthy diet and exercise plan long-term.
